Pseudonymisation
Replacing direct identifiers such as names with codes; the data can still be traced back to the person.
For example, replacing employee names with "K-07" and keeping the code table separately. Pseudonymisation reduces risk but does not change what the data is: as long as the person can still be identified, through the code table or by combining it with other information, it is still personal data under the PDP Law. Treat it as personal data: use an approved tool and do not send the code table. Contrast it with anonymisation, which makes the person no longer identifiable.
