One or more sample inputs and outputs placed in a prompt so the model copies the pattern.
Sometimes showing is easier than explaining. Two or three examples that represent real cases, hard ones included, often work better than a paragraph of explanation. Be careful: if the examples are too alike, the model copies that sameness and fails on cases that differ.
