Data retention
How long data is kept, and when it is deleted or destroyed.
Data retention is the rule on how long a type of data is kept and what happens afterwards. The period is set by the purpose of processing and by the rules that apply, such as duties to keep certain documents. The PDP Law asks that personal data not be kept longer than its purpose needs, unless another rule says otherwise. When using an AI service, also ask how long the provider keeps your input.
