Customer consent
A customer's clear statement that they agree to their data being used for a particular purpose, such as receiving promotions.
Customers give their number and address for their order. Using that data for another purpose, such as promo messages or mass broadcasts, needs its own basis, and for a small shop the clearest basis is consent. Good consent is asked separately from the order, names its purpose, is recorded and can be withdrawn at any time in an easy way. Silence or not objecting is not consent.
