Tool use
A model's ability to ask an app to run a given function, such as a search or a calculation.
With tool use, a model need not guess things it can check: it asks the app to run a tool, gets the result, and carries on. The model only asks; the app does the running. So the app must check every tool request against the real user's access rights.
