Reasoning model
A model that writes hidden thinking steps before giving its final answer.
A reasoning model spends some tokens thinking: breaking the problem down, trying paths, checking again. Results are often better for multi-step problems, but slower and more costly. Thinking tokens are counted too, so an output limit that is too small can leave the final answer empty.
