Version control
A system that records every change to a project's files, who made it and why, so changes can be compared and undone.
Version control, usually git, keeps a project's history as a series of commits: snapshots of the files with a message explaining the change. Branches separate unfinished work from the main version; a merge brings them back together, and a push sends them to the shared repository. When you build with AI, version control is your safety net: every agent step can be seen as a diff and undone if it is wrong.
Also called: Version control, git
