Guardrail
A limit placed around an AI or agent so its mistakes cannot cause damage.
Guardrails can be narrow permissions, a tool allowlist, delimiters around outside text, a confirmation before irreversible steps, or a spending cap. Use several layers, because any one can fail. The strongest guardrails live in the system, not in a prompt sentence.
